The various training courses and assignments as a mountain infantry soldier in my 30 years of service have certainly had a decisive influence on me. I was able to learn in and from the mountains, as well as from superiors and comrades. Later, I was also able to teach, both in summer and winter.

Exercise and deployment from the North Cape to Central and Southeastern Europe to Afghanistan have matured me as a person, instructor, supervisor and leader.

In addition to the active military sevice, I remained connected to sports. So I like to move on cross-country or touring skis and support young biathletes voluntarily on their way. I haven't completely forgotten how to ride a bike and today I prefer to ride my cross bike and explore new areas.

The third and most important pillar is my friends and family, which gives me support and drive.
